To know Him and make Him known through discipleship: teaching and nurturing the covenant community to glorify God in their daily lives and to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
At MRC we are committed to the life-long process of becoming more and more like Jesus so that our lives can honor and glorify God. Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3: 18). Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven (Matthew 5: 16).
Sunday School
Sunday School classes meet for all ages from 3 years old through adult. Our Sunday School meets from the second Sunday in September through the second Sunday in June. We begin each Sunday morning at 9:30 in the sanctuary for The Gathering, a time of sharing, taking attendance and offering, Bible memory verses, and announcements. This is a time for building community and encouraging one another in our journey of faith together. At 9:45 we dismiss to our classes: Preschool-Kindergarten, 1st-5th grades, 6th-8th grades, 9th-12th grades, Bobby’s class, and Adult Nurture. Adult Nurture is an informal discussion group. Volunteers take turns leading the class on topics that range from study of specific books of the Bible to contemporary issues and their relation to our Christian faith.
Junior Youth Group (JYG)
This year our focus is OUR FAITH. We will explore our relationships with Jesus Christ. All youth in 6th – 8th grades are welcome to attend our meetings the 3rd Sunday of each month, 7:00-8:30 p.m. (Sept. – May). We will also participate in service projects and fellowship activities.
Senior Youth Group (SYG)
Whether you’re in the band or on a sports team, in musical theater, or on the honor roll, the SYG at MRC is a place where you’ll feel welcome. We are a fellowship and service-oriented group of Senior High students (grades 9 – 12). Some Sunday nights are full of fun, food and laughs. Other Sundays focus more on serious discussion, on service, or on how we can create stronger ties with our community. Whatever we are doing, the MRC SYG is a place where we connect with each other under the umbrella of Christ’s love in an atmosphere without cliques and without judgment. Come join us — you’ll see what we mean.
Vacation Bible School
VBS is held during the first full week of August each year. Open to children 5 years old through 6th grade, we enjoy a week of Bible lessons, crafts, singing, games and refreshments in the exciting atmosphere of festively decorated buildings and grounds. Each year our VBS offerings support other ministries reaching out to children both locally and internationally.
Women’s Bible Study
Our theme for the year is Finding Fulfillment in Christ. We will be studying the books of Colossians and Philemon. All women are welcome to attend our Bible study the 3rd Sunday of each month, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
