Discipleship

To know Him and make Him known through discipleship: teaching and nurturing the covenant community to glorify God in their daily lives and to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

At MRC we are committed to the life-long process of becoming more and more like Jesus so that our lives can honor and glorify God.  Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ  (2 Peter 3: 18).  Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven (Matthew 5: 16).

Sunday School

Sunday School classes meet for all ages from 3 years old through adult.

Our Sunday School meets from the second Sunday in September through the second Sunday in June. We begin each Sunday morning at 9:30 am in our individual classes: Preschool-Kindergarten, 1st-5th grades, 6th-8th grades, 9th-12th grades, Bobby’s class, and Adult Nurture.

Our theme for 2015-16 is Through the Bible This Year – Read it, Study it, Live it, Share it. Within and between our classes we build community and encourage one another in our journey of faith together. PreK-Kindergarten follows the Children in Worship curriculum. The Elementary class is using Kid Connection by Faith Alive. The Middle School and High School classes use a variety of short-term Bible study resources and Adult Nurture is an informal discussion group. Volunteers in Adult Nurture take turns leading the class on topics that range from study of specific books of the Bible to contemporary issues and their relation to our Christian faith.

Our mission project this year is Feed One and our Sunday School offerings help fund this RCA supported program which provides food to hungry children around the world. Find out more at www.rca.org/feedone. Come join us for an inspirational road to discipleship through our Christian education program.

Junior Youth Group (JYG)

This year our focus is SERVICE.  We will work together on service projects that will allow us to express the love and care we experience in our relationship with Jesus Christ.   All youth in 6th – 8th grades are welcome to attend.  Dates and times of meetings and fellowship events will be listed under the Upcoming Events on our home page.

Senior Youth Group (SYG)

Whether you’re in the band or on a sports team, in musical theater, or on the honor roll, the SYG at MRC is a place where you’ll feel welcome.  We are a fellowship and service-oriented group of Senior High students (grades 9 – 12).  Some Sunday nights are full of fun, food and laughs.  Other Sundays focus more on serious discussion, on service, or on how we can create stronger ties with our community.  Whatever we are doing, the MRC SYG is a place where we connect with each other under the umbrella of Christ’s love in an atmosphere without cliques and without judgment.  Come join us — you’ll see what we mean.

Vacation Bible School

Kingdom of the Son – Wednesdays, July 6 – 27

Vacation Bible School is right around the corner!!  We’re using a new format this year – 4 consecutive Wednesday evenings (6:30 – 8:30) through the month of July.  Our kids will go on a prayer safari through the Kingdom of the Son, learning about The Lord’s Prayer.  Come help us make this a memorable experience for our kids and those who join us from the community.

Women’s Bible Study

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY BEGINS!
On Sunday, September 18 at 7:00 pm we will meet for our first Bible study on Philippians. We will be studying some background Scripture, so please read Acts 16:6-34 for our first meeting. All women are welcome to attend – bring a friend! See Mary Anne Montanari if you have any questions.
